Job Desription:

Prime tasks are to: Maintain and monitor compliance with the Environmental Management Plans (EMP) and Resettlement Action Plans (RAP) for the Efate Ring Road and Santo Coast Road sub-projects, including compliance with relevent Vanuatu legislation and regulations (environment, water, quarries, cultural sites, etc), oversee and contribute to the approval

process for requests from the road contractor for access to land outside the road Right of Way and approved RAPs, ensure that grievences are promptly documented, responded to and monitored to resolution, upadate and deliver an annual program of stakeholder consultations, weekly media updates, occasional 'success stories', press releases, and other strategies

and campaigns to maximise the publice engagement and contribute to the success and sustainability of the Compact, prepare reports of consultations and ensure that these and key environment, social and resettlement reports are placed on the MCA-V's website, be a proactive team member, working closely with MCA-V collegues, the MCA-V Steering Committee and

Stakeholder Committee, other Government Agencies and MCA contractors and consultants, maintain effective relationships with the Millenium Challenge Corporation(MCC) to ensure that the Compact proceeds in compliance with and subject to MCC's environmental, consultative, gender and vulnerable people's guidance, provide regular reports to the MCA Proram

Director, in keeping with reporting obligations to the Steering Committee and under the Compact, other tasks and responsibilities as requested by the Program Director. A copy of the Position Description is available from Mary Jo Bani on the number below.

Criteria:

- Must have full-time work experience and a degree or diploma which enable them to demonstrate skills in project management (including meeting timelines, monitoring performance against plans and social

and environmental requirements, maintaining document files as part of a quality assurance system

- Effective communications

- Interpersonal and problem-solving skills to take an active role in managing and mediating MCA's grievance procedures and working as a member of the extended MCA-V team

- Be able to work on both the Efate Ring Road and the Santo Coast Road Projects

Salary:

Basic salary of 2,399,040 vatu per annum
