Job Description:

Save the children is the world’s largest independent child rights development organisation, making a difference to children’s lives in more than 100 countries. From emergency relief to long-term development, Save the Children secures a child’s right to heath, education and protection.

Save the Children is under contract to the Ministry for health to manage the Village Health Worker Program (VHWP). The VHWP is responsible for the capacity building, support and supervision of over 200 village health workers to encourage active community involvement in primary health care. The VHWP also supports community aid post

construction, management and resourcing. In this role you will work with and support provincial health promotion officers and field officer’s (VHWP), located in MALAMPA, SHEFA and TAFEA provinces for the effective planning, implementation and monitoring of the VHWP. Interested applicant must possess the following requirements:

Criteria:

- Have proven experience in the management or delivery of community based / community development programs, including planning and monitoring; Have proven knowledge and experience in health

promotion/primary health care; Demonstrate excellent report writing skills (in English) and experience in managing and acquiring project funds

- Hold a completion of secondary school (year 12) certificate; Minimum of five years relevant work experience; Demonstrate the ability to mobilize and coordinate community groups, including high-

ranking community members; Possess well developed logistical, organizational and time management skills

- Demonstrate initiative and ability to be both self-directed, and to work as a team; Adhere to high levels of confidentiality and integrity (relating to both written and verbal communications); Have

strong communication skills and fluency in English and Bislama

- Have the ability and willingness to work in remote locations, and to undertake physically strenuous travel (by sea, road and on foot); Have a good level of computer literacy.

Salary:

Remuneration will be negotiated based on skills and experience.
