| | Job Description: |
| | The Vanuatu Meteorological and Geo-hazard department(VGMD) and National Diaster Management Office (NDMO) have secured funding from the World Bank for two large-scale national adaptation and diaster risk reduction projects designed to address Vanuatu's immediate climate change adaptation needs and mitigate natural diaster risk. |
| | The Procurement Officer will work with the PMU/VGMD in the implementation of this two projects with the respective implementation agencies. The Procurement Officer will be contracted to ensure that appropriate procurement planning, implementation, and reporting are met during the course of the projects,and to build capacity of the PMU for procurement. | | Officer, acting in accordane with the agreed Projects work plans and guidelines, will be responsible for the day-to-day activities relating to all procurement under IRCCNH and MDRR. |
| | Criteria: |
| | - At lest 3 years experience in position with similar procurement resposibilities. |
| | - University qualifications in relevant field or relative experience. |
| | - Excellent writing skills and ability to prepare clear, concise reports. |
| | - Excellent understanding of government finance procedures and processes, and ability to bwork with a range of agencies at the national level. |
| | - Previous experience with donor financed programs. |
