Job Description
Responsible for all aspects of hotel operation including guest and employee satisfaction, financial performance, revenue generation and delivering a return on investment. Assisting to lead the team in the development and implementation of property-wide strategies and to highlight short/medium/long terms issues across all departments. You will be involved in restaurant and kitchen operation, maintenance of premises, stock control/purchasing, staff training and ensuring company asset is operated at a high standard and be willing/ humble to be hands on in all departments to assist wherever necessary.
Selection Criteria
1. Must be fluent in English and Bislama. French desirable.
2. Excellent written communication and public speaking skills in English
3. excellent level of commercial awareness in the hotel industry who can build and maintain relationships with internal and external guests
4. Tertiary qualification with more than 10 years experience in the resorts and hotels industry.
5. Essential experience using IQPos, RoomMaster, Outlook, Adobe and Microsoft Suites
6. Experience with accounting, stocktaking, purchasing and understanding of MYOB & Xero a bonus
7. Exceptional understanding of maintaining a commercial kitchen and operating a restaurant to a high standard
8. Demonstrated ability to coordinate large functions, conferences and events
9. Proven experience with all aspects of hotel operation, including but not limited to front office, staff training, housekeeping, general maintenance, rostering, uniforms, liaising with external stakeholders such as travel wholesalers, advertising/marketing companies etc
10. Proven experience managing and up-skilling a team of over 40 staff.
11. Local driving license essential
12. Able to work full time and overtime when required
13. Ensuring customer service levels are maintained/ improved through effective management of local staff members
14. Support and work with all departments to ensure premises are always in operative condition
