Job Description:
We are looking for a Program Officer to join our team based in Luganville Santo, Sanma Province. 
Roles & Responsibilities
  • Together with Vanuatu Skills Partnership (VSP) develop a joint work which focuses on advocacy and awareness raising regarding disability inclusive skills development and lead its implementation with support from the Vanuatu Skills Partnership Disability Inclusion coordinator and provincial skills centres. 
  • Assist in building new strategic relationships with NGO's, government and businesses to develop programs which enable achievement of VDPA strategic plan, eg: Vanuatu Agricultural Program for Students with Disabilities. 
  • Assist in identifying resources required to implement the VDPA strategic plan, identifying sources of funding and lead grant applications. Contribute to building and maintaining collaborative relationships with local DPO's with all provinces across Vanuatu. 
  • Build and maintain relationships with VDPA members acting as a focal point within the organisation for members. 
  • Develop and provide regular reports to VSP and other partners as requested. 
  • Deputise for the VDPA National Coordinator when requested by assisting with the management of the implementation of VDPA work plan, day to day office activities, overseeing the work of staff and volunteers and providing leadership within the organisation when required. 
Criteria:
  • Must have outstanding aural and written communication and relationships in English and Bislama
  • Knowledge of the Convention on the Rights of People with Disabilities
  • Good analytical and problem solving skills
  • Knowledge of current community challenges and opportunities relating to the mission of the organisation
  • Knowledge of program management
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel and Outlook.

                                The UNICEF Pacific office in Vanuatu WASH team Programme Assistant will support the Vanuatu WASH team by providing a range of procedural, administrative, and operational support.  Under the direction of a Vanuatu WASH Specialist, the PA will support the team administratively to develop, implement, execute and monitor the WASH country programme.  The PA will ensure effective and timely delivery that is consistent with UNICEF rules and regulations.
