Job Description:

The Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET) sector strengthening program is an AusAID-funded program located in Santo and Malekula with the objective of improving training outcomes for employment and income generation within a national quality system. The program is currently seeking experienced Ni-Vanuatu applicants for the role

of Rural Economic Development Officer based at its office in Norsup, Malekula. A key focus of the role will be to assist small business owners and farmers improve their business operations and productively throughout Malampa province.

Interested applicant must possess the following criteria:

Criteria:

- Recognised qualification in a relevant productive sector field (ie: Agriculture, Tourism, Fisheries, etc) or business/economics-related discipline; Proven experience in business development/rural

development; Strong networks with stakeholders working in business and rural development

- Experience in skills transfer, including delivery of training, workshops, etc; Excellent communication skills, both written and oral in either english or french; Ability to manage simultaneously multiple

tasks in a challenging work environment

- Highly competent in the use of MS word, MS excel, MS powerpoint and the internet; Ability to drive will be an distinct advantage.
