We are looking for a WASH Senior Officer (Engineer) to join our team based in Tanna, Tafea Province with travel to outer islands.
This position is responsible for the technical and logistical management of the desalination activities, jerry can distributions, hygiene promotion, and fuel delivery to the Provincial Disaster Committee (PDC). The successful candidate would ideally have experience organising groups, working with communities, and have an understanding of mechanics and logistics. Experience liaising with hygiene promoters and organising distribution is desired. The Candidate should have good problem solving skills and the ability to ensure that women, children, older people, and people with disabilities participate in and are involved in decision making around WASH issues.

        Criteria:
        Required Qualification and Skills
        • Bachelor degree or diploma in a related field (engineering, natural resource management, etc.)
        • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience
        • Demonstrated experience managing logistically intense projects
        • Experience implementing WASH projects and activities
        • Experience managing a team of at least three people
        • Strong ability to plan ahead and organize multiple activities simultaneously
        • Strong communication skills, including representation, negotiation and demonstrated interpersonal skills
        • Demonstrated awareness and sensitivity to the particular needs of women in WASH
        • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team
        • Ability to work well under pressure and in response to changing needs
        • Written and oral fluency in English, Bislama, and local languages
        • Ability to work independently and efficiently
        • Strong computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point)
        • Willingness to be based in Tanna and travel to the outer islands.
