From emergency relief to long-term development, Save the Children secures a child’s right to health, education and protection.
We have an immediate opening for a Community Engagement Officer for our Santo Office. 

Key Purpose of these positions
The Community Engagement Officer will work closely with the Community Training Officer, Field Manager and Program Management Team to ensure quality Nutrition programs are implemented for selected groups in Santo. The Community Engagement Officer will also work closely with Field Teams to ensure timely follow up after trainings to ensure that positive nutrition behaviours are retained. The Community Engagement Officer will be based in Save the Children Office in Luganville and will be managed by the SANMA Field Manager.

Criteria:
Qualifications/Accreditations:
  • Completed High School Level – Year 12
  • Diploma in Community Services an advantage
Knowledge/Experience:
  • Demonstrated knowledge and practical skills in community level training and capacity building
  • 3 years’ experience involvement in community level activities for example youth activities, sports, church or developmental programs, including liaising with community leaders
  • Some knowledge of reproductive, maternal, newborn, and child health
Skills/Abilities:
  • Excellent facilitation skills
  • Good verbal and written communication skills in both Bislama and English
  • Ability to communicate sensitive health messages surrounding Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn, and Child Health
  • Ability to plan and organize self and others to ensure the timely completion of tasks while working to deadlines
  • Willing and able to travel to and work in remote communities.
